It is a single shaft, external halyard, tapered, aluminum Flagpole. The flagged windspeed is 77 mph with the recommended MIL SPEC 3.5' x 6.65' U.S. Flag.
Personally I like external halyard Flagpoles when the pulley truck is stationary. The U.S. Flag flies so proud when the halyard is snug tight. That is the advantage of the wire-core rope halyard that is included with this Flagpole. Wire-core rope does not give, so once you cleat it, the halyard will not slacken hardly.
