MIL SPEC FLAGS are truly prefect.

MIL SPEC Flags fly all the time.  Zephyr to Gale

-Forever may she wave.

Field hem on occasion.  We call it giving your flag a "hair cut".  Perfect for holidays like the 4th of July when you don't want to have to buy a new flag but don't want your old flag looking tattered.

MIL SPEC Flags are Presidential Executive Order 10834 Flags with a 1.0 hoist to 1.9 fly ratio.  Click here for more information. http://www.apexflags.com/page/page/1550300.htm

The extra length adds to the aerodynamics of the flag.  In other words, MIL SPEC Flags fly better then typical flags.

MIL SPEC items are the exact flags and accessories specified and accepted by the United States Department of Defence.  All MIL SPEC Flags are 100% Made In The U.S.A.

In addition to the 1.0 Hoist to 1.9 Fly ratio: Other features include special stitching, heavy canvas duck heading, #2 solid brass, rolled-rim toothed grommets, and the size and spacing of the star field: plus the fly is a reinforced 4 needle fly hem. Strong. Nimble.

MIL SPEC flags have fully embroidered stars and specified in high-tenacity 70-denier nylon material.  Even the material and thread is color matched.

100% MADE IN THE USA

Be aware these flags are not for everyone. Your MIL SPEC U.S. Flag is going to fly all the time in representation of the United States.  This flag works for a living. At some point the Flag will encounter material fatigue and tatter.  When this occurs field hem the fly end to clean it up

MORE ABOUT FIELD HEMMING

A "field hem" is perfect for 4th of July, Veterans Day, a visit by the Admiral on your patrol boat.  Anytime.  Quick and Fast!  Looks Great!

The MIL SPEC 1:1.9 ratio fly length means you can "hem" more often and longer then a standard 1:1.5 US. Flag.

On a MIL SPEC Flag get about 3-6 field hems depending on how much you trim and how often.  Otherwise the material just flecks off in small and hard to see pieces.

A field hem will last for quite a while; because of the U.S. Military "SPEC" of 12-stitch-per-inch, lock-stitch-sewing; and 70-denier nylon material.

See you can-not do a field hem on a Polyester Flag.  Poly2 must be re-hemmed; because Polyester-2 is a loose weave that frays in big ugly pieces without a sewn-hem.

But a MIL SPEC Flag looks great with a Field-Hem. Amazing.

Repeat over time: as needed.

Finally; over-time; either your stripes will become the same length as your canton and the flag should be retired: or the elements will break the flag material down; to where the material is too-old; and rips back.
